Adhesive restorations are beautiful and help restore strength to your teeth.  Prior to adhesive dentistry, we often had to eliminate good tooth structure to attach fillings.  These old, dark silver fillings are very prone to breakdown and leakage, allowing decay to develop.  They also expand causing unnecessary stress on the teeth, often leading to fractures and breakage.  Replacing old, silver fillings with tooth-coloured fillings can help prevent tooth breakdown and fractures.
