Bone Grafting

When teeth are lost, the surrounding bone immediately starts to collapse.  Bone can be lost due to trauma, infection and extraction of the teeth.  Because implants require a solid bone structure for integration, bone grafting is often done prior to placing an implant.

We have the ability to graft bone to support upper back implants by way of a bone grafting procedure called a sinus elevation.

Block bone can be harvested from one part of your mouth to be used to increase bone volume in another part of your mouth.

Also available are particulate grafts from immediately surrounding the implant site, or from a bottle of bone purchased from a specialized sugical supplier.

Dr. Hansford help you with your decisions if your implant treatment would be improved by a bone graft.
