Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are often necessary when an existing filling that is large begins to break down. If the filling and recurrent decay weaken the tooth or a cusp of the tooth, an onlay or crown is the treatment of choice. It restores the tooth with strength and integrity to prevent any surprising emergency situation (the dreaded broken tooth). Bridges can be made to replace missing teeth in situations where an implant is not indicated or desired. Bridges use the adjacent teeth as abutments for replacing the missing tooth or teeth.
