Dr. Hansford received his Doctorate in Medicinal Dentistry at the University of British Columbia in 1998. Since then, he has regularly attended continuing education courses in both advanced clinical skills and providing superior client care. Dr. Hansford is particularly interested in cosmetic, implant and sedation dentistry and has pursued numerous advanced qualifications in these fields:

• Dr. Hansford has been named an Associate Fellow by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry
• Dr. Hansford has achieved both Mastership and Fellow status in the International Congress of Oral Implantology

“First off let me say how comfortable and relaxed Colleen and everyone in Dr. Hansford's office made me feel. I, like the rest of the testimonials I have read, had been avoiding going to a dentist due to past painful experiences with not being able to be frozen etc, etc. I always tell dentists that I would rather break a bone than be there, they laugh but I was not kidding I have broken many bones and it hurts less. So when I read Dr. Hansford's ad for sedation dentistry and was very interested in finding out more. This method was very appealing to me. From the first consultation I felt I was in good hands. I liked that you were not judged for avoiding a dentist for a few years for once Dr. Hansford had a plan for moving forward and looking into the future which I have not felt any of my previous dentists had done. When I found out I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed and 8 cavities filled my eyes went wide and first thought was "Oh that sounds horribly painful!" But then Dr. Hansford told me I could be sedated! Although I was still very iffy, being put under sounded a lot better than remembering what happened. Dr. Hansford listened to a long list of my concerns and decided that on the very next visit he could do all of the following: extract the 2 bottom wisdom teeth, fill a black molar, replace all my old black amalgam with white and fill 2 small areas where my gums had pulled away from my teeth. Colleen and Dr. Hansford patiently answering all my questions. We decided to use sedation as I have TMJ syndrome and find it painful to have my mouth open for very long. "I have never felt comfortable in a dentist's office until a friend referred me to Dr. Hansford. His professionalism, keen, efficient and fun attitude is displayed in all aspects of his work and the safe feel of the confidence in his hands is the final fear buster. I was in for a root canal and the drill is a true antagonist to my ability to sit and relax. The clenching leads to jaw pain, which leads to a migraine, which I suffer after most dental care. Yesterday I received his "sleep dentistry". I was given a mild sedative to take the edge off. I needed to be driven home and that was the ONLY downside.
