A Straighter Smile That Fits Into Your Life As It Is
You don't need your schedule to revolve around your teeth to finally straighten them. SureSmile clear aligners are a series of clear, custom-fitted trays that gradually move your teeth into place, with no brackets, no wires, and nothing anyone else has to notice.
At Smile Dentistry, SureSmile is designed for adults with mild to moderate crowding, the kind that makes cleaning harder or bothers you every time you look in the mirror. Your trays are custom-planned around your specific teeth, so treatment stays focused, efficient, and easy to fit into a normal week.

Practically Invisible, Genuinely Removable
Your aligners are clear enough that most people won't notice you're wearing them, and you take them out to eat, brush, and floss. That means no food restrictions and no special cleaning routine to learn, just your regular habits, continued.
One Team, No Separate Referral
Your clear aligner treatment is planned and monitored right here, by the same team that already knows your dental history. There's no separate orthodontist's office to coordinate with, and if a filling or cleaning comes up while you're in treatment, it's handled in the same visit rather than a separate one.

A Treatment Plan Focused on Your Case
SureSmile at Smile Dentistry is built specifically for adults with mild to moderate crowding. Because your plan doesn't have to account for a more complex bite or jaw correction, it can stay direct and no longer than your case actually requires.
Why Fixing Crowding Is Worth Doing Now
When teeth overlap or sit too close together, they work against your oral health in a few specific ways:
- Tight spots form that are genuinely difficult to clean, no matter how carefully you brush and floss.
- Plaque and food particles collect in those spots, raising your risk of cavities and gum disease over time.
- Uneven pressure on certain teeth every time you bite down can wear down enamel faster in some spots than others.
Left alone, mild crowding tends to stay mild for a while, but it rarely resolves on its own. Straightening it now, while your case is still mild to moderate, is generally the simpler and shorter path.

Is Clear Aligner Treatment Right for You?
SureSmile at Smile Dentistry is designed for adults dealing with mild to moderate crowding. You might be a good candidate if:
- Your teeth have shifted or overlapped slightly over the years, even if they were straighter when you were younger.
- You have small gaps or crowded spots that make certain areas hard to floss or keep clean.
- You've always wanted straighter teeth but never wanted the look or the maintenance of metal braces as an adult.
- Your bite feels slightly uneven, or certain teeth seem to be taking more pressure than others.
- You'd like to see visible progress in a shorter time frame than more involved orthodontic treatment usually takes.
A consultation is the only way to know for sure. If your case turns out to be more complex than clear aligners can address, we'll tell you plainly and talk through what would actually help.

How SureSmile Clear Aligners Work
Here's what your SureSmile treatment includes, from your first scan to your last tray:
- A digital scan of your teeth using our intraoral scanner, so there are no messy moulds involved.
- A treatment plan mapped from that scan, laying out the exact movements your teeth need to make, in order, from where they are now to where they're going.
- A series of clear, custom-made trays, each one shifting your teeth slightly.
- A new tray every one to two weeks, worn in sequence until your treatment is complete.
- A preview of your plan before you commit to treatment, since the whole sequence is mapped out in advance.

Your Clear Aligner Treatment, Step by Step
Your Consultation
We'll take a look at your crowding, talk through your goals, and confirm whether SureSmile is the right fit for your case. If aligners aren't the right call for you, we'll tell you plainly and talk through what would help instead.
Digital Scan and Treatment Plan
Using our intraoral scanner, we capture a detailed digital model of your teeth. It's quick and comfortable, with no impressions or messy moulds, and it becomes the foundation for your personalized treatment plan.
Reviewing Your Plan
Before any trays are made, your dentist walks you through your plan so you understand roughly how many trays you'll wear and what the process will look like. All costs are presented in writing, so there are no surprises.
Wearing Your Aligners
You'll wear each set of aligners for about 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss. Every one to two weeks, you'll switch to the next tray in your series as your teeth continue to shift.
Progress Check-Ins
You'll come in periodically so we can confirm your teeth are tracking with your plan and make any small adjustments along the way. These visits are quick, since most of the work is happening between appointments as you wear your trays.
Retention
Once your teeth reach their final position, you'll be fitted for a retainer. Wearing it as directed is what keeps your teeth from drifting back, so this step matters just as much as the aligners themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Book a consultation at either our Valleyview or Downtown location. We'll assess your crowding, confirm whether SureSmile is right for you, and map out what treatment would look like from there.
What happens after my teeth are straight?
You'll be fitted for a retainer. Wearing it as directed helps protect your results and prevent your teeth from shifting back after treatment.
Can I still eat what I want?
Yes. Since your aligners come out for meals, there's nothing off-limits the way there can be with braces. Just remember to brush before putting your trays back in, so you're not trapping food against your teeth.
What if I forget to wear my aligners for a day?
A single missed day usually isn't a problem, but skipping your aligners regularly can slow your progress or shift your timeline. If you fall behind, let us know so we can check whether your plan needs any adjustment.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on how much movement your case needs, but mild to moderate crowding typically moves faster than more complex cases. Your dentist will give you a personalized timeline once your plan is mapped out.
Do I need a referral to start treatment?
No. Your clear aligner treatment is handled entirely here at Smile Dentistry by the same team that already knows your dental history.
Is there any discomfort when I switch to a new tray?
Some mild pressure or tightness is normal for the first day or two after moving to a new tray, as your teeth adjust. It typically fades quickly on its own and isn't a sign of a problem.
How is this different from braces?
Braces use fixed brackets and wires that stay on your teeth for the length of treatment. SureSmile aligners are clear, removable trays you switch out every one to two weeks, which makes them a discreet option for adult crowding.
Am I a candidate for clear aligners?
Adults with mild to moderate crowding are typically good candidates. A consultation and digital scan will confirm whether your specific case fits.
What is SureSmile?
SureSmile is a clear aligner system that uses a series of custom, removable trays to gradually move your teeth into a straighter position. It's planned from a digital scan of your own teeth, so each stage is mapped specifically to your case.
