The Right Time to Act
Wisdom tooth evaluation can begin in the mid-teenage years, and the best time for removal is from the mid-teens to the early twenties, when the roots are not yet fully formed, and recovery tends to be faster. Acting early means a simpler procedure, a smoother recovery, and less risk of the complications that come with delayed treatment.

What Are Wisdom Teeth?
The average adult has sixteen teeth on the top and sixteen on the bottom. Wisdom teeth are the four teeth situated furthest back in the mouth — the last to emerge, typically in the late teens or early twenties.
For many patients, the jaw simply does not have enough room to accommodate them. When wisdom teeth do not have space to grow in properly, they can become partially or fully trapped beneath the gum line — a condition known as impaction. Even when wisdom teeth do emerge, their position at the back of the mouth makes them difficult to clean effectively, leaving them vulnerable to decay and gum disease over time.

What to Expect When We Remove Your Wisdom Teeth
Your Consultation
Your doctor will take a full set of X-rays to assess the position of your wisdom teeth, the development of the roots, and the surrounding bone and tissue. Based on this assessment, you will receive a clear recommendation and a written treatment plan with all costs outlined before anything is scheduled.
Choosing Your Sedation
If sedation is right for you — and for most wisdom teeth patients it is — your doctor will confirm the appropriate level based on your health history and the complexity of your case. Pre-appointment instructions for eating, drinking, and what to wear will be provided.
The Day of Your Appointment
Arrive with a designated driver. Our team will get you settled, administer your sedation, and ensure you are fully comfortable before the procedure begins. Vital signs are monitored throughout by a team trained and certified in sedation dentistry.
The Extraction
Your doctor removes all four wisdom teeth while you relax. Impacted teeth are also extracted in-house — no separate referral required. If you have fillings, a cleaning, or other dental needs, those are addressed in the same appointment.
Recovery at the Office
Once the procedure is complete, you will rest comfortably in our care before your designated driver takes you home. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions and answer any questions before you leave.
